Gridlog is a small independent project, not a company. It does not sell your personal data, does not run ads, and does not track you across other websites. This page describes what it actually stores and what you can do about it.
What Gridlog stores
When you create an account:
- Your email address, used to sign in and to send account emails. Nothing else is sent to it.
- Your username and display name.
- The NFL and college teams you pick at onboarding.
When you use the app:
- The games you grade, your rating, and any review text you write.
- Whether you marked a game as watched in person, and an optional beer count.
- Who you follow.
- Optional links to your X or Reddit account, if you add them to your profile.
Why, and on what basis
Account data is processed because it is necessary to provide the service you signed up for — under GDPR this is performance of a contract, not consent. That is why Gridlog does not show you a consent prompt: there is no processing here that consent would be the correct basis for.
Who else sees it
- Supabase hosts the database and handles sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the site and provides page-view analytics.
Schedule and score data comes from nflverse and CollegeFootballData. Those services receive no information about you — data flows one way, into Gridlog.
Rating statistics
Gridlog may publish or license aggregated rating statistics, such as the average neutral rating of a game or how a team's fans rated its season. These are totals across many people, and are only shared for groups large enough that no individual can be picked out.
Your email address, username, individual grades, and review text are never sold.
Cookies and analytics
Gridlog sets one kind of cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the site to work, which is why there is no cookie banner.
Page views are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It records that a page was viewed, not who viewed it, and does not follow you to other sites.
What is public
Your username, display name, teams, grades, and reviews are visible to anyone using Gridlog. Your email address is not, and is never shown on your profile.
Profile pages are excluded from search engines, so your Gridlog profile should not turn up in a search for your name.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for your account and everything in it to be deleted. Email contact@gridlog.football and it will be handled.
One honest caveat on correction: the team you pick at onboarding cannot be changed afterwards. That is deliberate and enforced by the database, not a display rule. Grades are only credible if people cannot switch allegiance to suit a result. If you picked the wrong team, email the address above and your account can be deleted so you can start again, but the individual field cannot be edited in place.
How long it is kept
Account data is kept until you ask for it to be deleted. Grades you post stay on the games you graded until you delete them or your account.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects what is collected or who sees it, the date at the top will change with it.
If a change would allow a new use of data you have already provided, you will be asked first. If Gridlog is ever acquired or merged, your data moves to the new owner, who is bound by this policy.
